Cell Phone Robberies with Suspect Drawings

St. Albert RCMP are releasing two composite artist sketches of the two suspects in a series of armed robbery incidents where cell phones and other property have been stolen from young people in St. Albert. Also, a surveillance photo of the suspect vehicle has been released.

St. Albert RCMP continue to investigate the reports of armed robberies that occurred since April 18, 2019. Multiple avenues of investigation are being pursued and officers are following up on all tips received from the public.

The RCMP continue to encourage young people to stay in groups, or with an adult if they are outside and suggest that young people may consider staying home for the next period of time. If anyone is confronted by the suspects, cooperate with their demands as personal safety is more important than property.

So far, no one has been physically injured in these incidents. St. Albert Victim Services has been connected with the victims of these robberies and will continue to guide these clients and their families during the investigation.

Updated April 23, 2019:

St. Albert RCMP received 2 additional reports of armed robberies on April 22, 2019. These incidents are potentially related to the 4 previous reported robberies that occurred between April 18 and April 20, 2019.

The description of the suspects has not changed.

St. Albert RCMP are asking residents to report any suspicious incidents to the RCMP by calling 780-458-7700 and are suggesting that young people walk in groups, walk with an adult or stay home in the next period of time. If confronted by a robber, cooperate with the demands as personal safety is more important than loss of property.

Original Release April 22, 2019:

St Albert RCMP are investigating 4 potentially related armed robberies that have occurred between April 18 and April 20, 2019.

The different victims are between 10-20 years old and the offender(s) are stealing cell phones, wallets and property.

The suspect(s) produces what appears to look like a firearm and demands the victim's cell phone or other property. There has been no physical contact, and no injuries suffered by the victims.

Two suspects have been described as; suspect one Asian or Filipino, thin, mid twenties wearing a cross body bag. He may have facial hair and noticeable acne. The other is described as a black male with short hair (buzz cut).

The suspect vehicle has been described as a small newer silver four door car possible a ford fusion and today a clean newer white small SUV.

All the victims were out walking or on bikes when they were approached and the suspect remains close to his vehicle.

The St. Albert RCMP are continuing an active investigation with assistance from the General Investigation Section. A composite drawing is being considered and may be released in the future.
