RCMP Investigating Suspicious Occurrence in City Park

On July 5, 2022 at approximately 9:00pm, St. Albert RCMP began an investigation into a suspicious occurrence.

St. Albert RCMP received a report that a suspicious male had grabbed a child’s arm at a park in the Erin Ridge area of St. Albert. The investigation revealed that a group of children were walking on a pathway and felt that they were being followed by an unknown male. Later the same evening, the children were playing at a park where that same male photographed the children and grabbed one of the children by their wrist. The child ran back to the group where they then contacted their parent.

The male reportedly left the area in a white or silver van.

The male is described as:

Police are looking for any information that might lead to the identity of the male, or assist in the investigation.

No similar complaints have been reported to the St. Albert RCMP recently, but want to remind families to always be vigilant and review safety strategies with youth and children for their summer activities.
