UPDATE: RCMP investigate dog bite

St. Albert RCMP, with the assistance of St. Albert General Investigation Section (GIS) and St. Albert Municipal Enforcement Services (MES), were able to identify the dog and it’s owner. The dog is legally registered/licenced through the City of St. Albert and has been placed on a 10 day quarantine, which is a mandatory requirement through Alberta Health Services. St. Albert RCMP want to thank the public for their assistance.
At this time, the investigation has been turned over to Municipal Enforcement Services for follow up.

On Aug. 14, 2025 at 7:45 PM., St. Albert RCMP responded to a call for service related to a dog bite in the Alderwood neighborhood of St. Albert. Police were advised a 61-year-old women while walking her dog, was bitten by a large black dog. The incident resulted in serious injury and hospitalization to the victim. Alberta Health Services Emergency Medical Services (EMS) attended and transported the victim to hospital where surgical procedures were undertaken.
RCMP have attended the scene and continue conducting neighbourhood enquiries. St. Albert RCMP are asking for the publics assistance in identifying the dog who bite the women, the young adult women who was walking that dog and any witnesses to the incident.
