RCMP investigate commercial break & enter (with 6 photos)
On March 2, 2022, between 4 a.m. and 4:20 a.m., two unknown males broke into a retirement condominium construction site on Inglewood Drive by smashing a glass door to gain entry. Once inside the condo complex the two male culprits stole 114 Ground Fault Circuit Breakers and 114 Vault Plugs, which are valued over $20,000.
The two unknown suspects were captured on video surveillance.
The first suspect is description as:
- Caucasian male
- Slim build
- Black hat
- Black hoodie
- Grey sweat pants
- Red gloves
- Black shoes with white soles
- Carrying a green bag
The second suspect is description as:
- Caucasian male
- Taller
- Strong/medium build
- Black ball cap
- Grey hoodie
- Beige coveralls
- Carrying a black duffle bag
Since March 1, 2022, St. Albert RCMP have received 17 reports of break & enters, 15 of which are businesses. Numerous construction sites and automotive shops have been targeted, along with a couple restaurants and other small businesses. Business owners are encourage to protect their business by:
- Installing motion sensor lights
- Keep an inside light on at all times
- Remove items that could be used to climb onto the roof
- Keep windows clear of stickers and posters
- Install video cameras and ensure they are working/recording
- Invest in an alarm system and ensure it is working
- Keep valuables away from windows
- Install roll shutters or bars on windows
St. Albert RCMP is asking for the public’s help in identifying the two individuals involved in the above construction site break & enter or any information regarding the other business break & enters that have occurred this past month.
St. Albert RCMP encourage the public to report any criminal or suspicious activity to the RCMP Detachment at 780-458-7700.
