RCMP arrest male for mischief

On July 4, 2022, at approximately 10:35 p.m. St. Albert RCMP received a complaint regarding individuals who were damaging the Pickleball Courts at Alpine Park with spray paint. RCMP members attended the location, located used spray paint cans matching the paint colours used to damaged the acoustic meshing around the Pickleball Courts and received information that three suspects were seen leaving the area, entering a residence near by. RCMP attended the residence in question and spoke to three suspects who denied any involvement.

St. Albert RCMP continued their investigation, and on July 12, 2022 one of the three suspects in question, Owen Norman Zittlau (19) of St. Albert, Alta., was arrested and charged with Mischief Over $5000. Owen Zittlau was released from custody on an Appearance Notice and is scheduled to appear in St. Albert Provincial Court on August 15, 2022.

Replacement cost of the “Acoustic Meshing” would cost the City of St. Albert approximately $23,700 USD, thus the city attempted to clean the spray paint off at this time.
