RCMP Warn Public About City Storm Drains

The St. Albert RCMP would like to remind citizens about the dangers around city storm drains. The City’s stormwater system can quickly fill with water even with very little rain, and when rainfall is intense, the rush of water can pop off manhole covers. Also, individuals should stay away from outfalls along the riverbank and manhole covers in parks and along roadways.

Residents need to educate themselves & others about the city storm drains, exercise caution during rainfall events and never, under any circumstances, should an individual enter the stormwater system.

St. Albert RCMP encourage the public to report any criminal or suspicious activity to the RCMP Detachment at 780-458-7700. Reports tell us where to look, who to look for, and where to patrol in the future. If you see a crime in progress, dial 911. If you wish to remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), online at www.P3Tips.com or by using the “P3 Tips” app available through the Apple App or Google Play Store.
