Adult Male Charged With Firearms Offences

In early July the St. Albert RCMP Crime Reduction Unit began an investigation into a number of residential Break & Enters in which firearms were the target. The Break & Enters occurred in St. Albert, High Prairie and Onoway. The information gathered through the course of the investigation lead to a search warrant being executed in an apartment residence on Sturgeon Road.

During the search, RCMP located 5 firearms, 3 of which were stolen out of High Prairie. One of the firearms had it's barrel sawed off, making it a prohibited weapon.

Shaun Kelly (33) of St Albert, Alta was charged with 13 Criminal Code charges:

Shaun Kelly is set to appear in St. Albert Provincial Court on August 12, 2019.

Inspector Pam Robinson, Officer In Charge of St. Albert RCMP, stated, "Crime Reduction Units specialize in targeting the criminals who hurt our communities the most. At the time of arrest, individuals arrested by a Crime Reduction Unit have, on average, minimum three charges against them."
