3 Arrested for Stolen Catalytic Converters

On Sunday, October 27, 2019, at approximately 2:45 a.m., St. Albert RCMP attended the Riel Industrial Park to check on a suspicious person. During the investigation on Rayborn Crescent, RCMP officers located two female adults and one male adult, along with various tools commonly used in catalytic converter thefts, some stolen catalytic converters and a small quantity of drugs. All three suspects were arrested.

Michael Rolof, age 29, and Tanya Runzer, age 31, both residents of St. Albert, along with Rachelle Wingrove, age 35, from Edmonton, appeared in court in St. Albert on Monday, October 28, 2019 where the charges were set over for November court dates. They are facing charges including Break and Enter and Possession of Stolen Property, and one person also faces a drug charge.

“Although St. Albert RCMP is pleased with the results of this investigation, we can’t reduce crime in St. Albert on our own.” says Cpl. Laurel Kading with the St. Albert RCMP. “The RCMP will continue to do everything we can to keep St. Albert safe, but property crimes are a community issue that needs a community solution. The RCMP cannot solve crimes or lower crime rates without the cooperation of the community, which includes reporting suspicious activities and following the #9PM Routine. It’s 9PM.
