RCMP charge two with various offences after vehicle theft

On Dec. 6, 2023, at 0:59 a.m., St Albert RCMP received a report of a theft of a vehicle from Vandelor Road in St. Albert. RCMP quickly learned that a Subaru Impreza was stolen and it appeared that a second vehicle, a white GMC truck, was involved. A short time later, patrolling St. Albert officers located both vehicles driving South on St. Albert Trail at a high rate of speed. As the St. Albert RCMP car turned around they observed the offending vehicles in the distance collide with one another and both coming to a stop. St. Albert officers quickly arrested a male suspect in the stolen Subaru. EPS Air 1 as well as EPS officers with a dog handler assisted. A second suspect was located by Air 1 and arrested by RCMP.

As a result of the investigation RCMP have charged Amanda Jean Coles (32), of no fixed address with:

• Theft of a motor vehicle
• Possession of property obtained by crime
• Dangerous driving
• Fail to remain at the scene of an accident
• Theft Forgery of a credit card
• Possession of a controlled substance

Coles has been taken before a justice of the peace and released from custody with her next court date for Jan. 8, 2024, at the Alberta Court of Justice in St. Albert.

RCMP have charged Bryan Michael Ventura (33), of no fixed address with:

• Theft of a motor vehicle
• Possession of property obtained by crime
• Dangerous driving
• Possession of break in tools
• Theft Forgery of a credit card
• Mischief
• Possession of a controlled substance

Ventura has been taken before a justice of the peace and remanded into custody with his next court date set for Dec. 11, 2023, at the Alberta Court of Justice in St. Albert.
